Introduction
FL Overseas Camps offer the opportunity to experience a European-style summer language camp without the travel. These programmes are known as Transnational Education (TNE) programmes.
The FL programme focuses on communication skills, technology-based project-work and intercultural experiences. We aim to develop our students ability to understand and explain ideas through English, not just to memorise facts about the language and the world. Classes and activities will be in English and will be lead by teachers and instructors experienced in communicative approaches to language teaching as well as in the techniques of using technology as a tool for language learning.
The technology-based project work means that students will create a record of what they have experienced which will prove their ability to communicate in real-life English using the medium of modern technology. The intercultural experience is also very important and will be combined both with the communication and technology aspects of the course. This is an exchange where students will be set the task of explaining own their culture to visitors in response to what they hear about European culture, in an atmosphere of mutual respect and interest.
Winter courses take place in Shenzhen (China) during Chinese New Year holiday, Kkrasnoyarsk (Siberia – Russia) during the first week of January and in India during December holiday.
- They are five-day courses with two classroom sessions each morning and an activity session in the afternoon.
- This is a non-residential programme which takes place in a local modern school.
